deals

Today I went to the grocery store and spent $53.00, but I saved 43.19. Thanks to buy 1 get 1 free and coupons to go with that. I brought in about 7 bags of groceries! All things that I needed too. Not bad for a beginner coupon clipper!

coupon clipping

Troy went out and bought me a paper to clip coupons today. I have them all organized in a mini photo album. Now all I have to do is match them with a good deal at the store and were in business! I'll keep you posted on our savings.......

Thank You God

I am feeling very thankful in my heart the past few days. Thankful for being healthy and for my family and for Gods grace. Sometimes we just have to slow down and look at our lives the way the Lord sees things. I am so thankful that God has my life in His hands and He knows what He is doing!

Piano

Dawson and Dylan had their first piano lesson today. They learned how to hold their hands up and play the keys with there fingertips. They learned to scale down the keys and where middle c was. They know how to place their fingers on the keys and played a song with their right hand on a steady beat. Dawson really seemed to enjoy practicing, Caitlin thought it was play time on the piano and tried her best to get in on the fun.

coupons

Well I saved $41.00 today on my grocery bill. I am going to try saving coupons and waiting on deals at the store. I printed out coupons on the internet today at coupon.com. I am going to get the Sunday paper and clip some coupons. Lets see how much we can save at the Stitt home.

sneak peak

This year I made my own candy bar wrappers for Valentines day. I also printed out wrappers for life savers in a roll but I can't seem to find rolls any where they are all in packs. I think these turned out cute.

Happy Valentines Day!

Truffles

My first try at these dairy free truffles. They don't look so pretty but they taste soooooo good! The kids loved them and Caitlin kept saying "more chocit". I will work on the presentation. These truffles are made with pureed oranges and dark chocolate, they are very rich. I told Troy I feel so virtuous, just like making homemade bread that turns out perfect. (he rolled his eyes). I feel so happy my little girl can and will have her "chocit" she deserves it.
We rented movies last night for our pizza movie night. We usually get them from the library but you gotta splurge sometime. We rented Where the Red Fern Grows....You gotta watch that movie, very, very wholesome. I remember it from when I was a kid but it's a newer version from then. Dawson just listened to the book on cd so he thought it was fun to watch. Then the second movie was The Game Plan, not as wholesome but still a good family movie with no bad words or anything. It was pretty funny.

chocolate

Well Valentines day is coming up and I am trying to find some chocolate recipes for Caitlin that are non dairy. I have found some dark chocolate truffles that look really good and pretty easy to make. (we'll see about that) If they don't turn out I'll just bake the tried and true handed down recipe from great grandma (g.g.) " Crazy Chocolate Cake" And all though I can never get it like she did, it still tastes so yummy. Best of all no eggs or milk.

reunion

My Aunt Charlotte and Uncle Bob came for a visit yesterday. I believe it's been 24 years since we have seen each other! Aunt Charlotte is my moms sister, they live in Michigan. We had a great time with them, all though way too short. I wish they would have stayed the night here but it's their vacation and it was off to the Keys. We ate and played some eucher and caught up with everything. I hope they enjoyed it as much as mom and I did.

11 years later....

Last night we celebrated 11 years of marriage. We ended up going to Carrabbas. We have never been there before and thought we would try it out. Glad we went, it was good food. We left there and went for a walk in winter park, back home at 9:00. We should go out more often.........
