Caitlin singing hymns

When Dawson and Dylan were in choir, they had to learn hymns. Our favorite was "I have decided to follow Jesus" I love that Caitlin has heard these songs and has them in her heart as well.......

The words are I have decided to follow Jesus, no turning back, no turning back.

She is also singing Jesus loves me....

She saw me video taping her in the end and that's why she said "cheese"

cold winter...

My friend told me it's going to be a cold winter because she has a lot of acorns on her tree. She said that means God is giving the squirrels enough food to supply for the long , cold winter. Makes sense to me, so I better get my family prepared too. And due to the overwhelming response I got from posting my knit hats before..(roll of eyes) I decided to post them again. :)

exciting huh!!

As you can see the knifty knitter loom has taken over my life. I am making a hat for Caitlin right now that looks like a pumpkin. (too cute)

Dawsons hat

This is how big D's hat turned out. It's just too easy to make, I think I'll make scarfs and mittens to match......

Our Saturday....

I got out my loom kit the other day and made Caitlin a cute little hat (you can see it on my other blog ). So I thought I'd make some for the boys too. This is the first one and Dylan thought it was great, now he wants one that's green. Even Troy said to make him one in orange and blue. ( gator colors). Well Caitlin never passes an opportunity to get dressed up so she wore this hat for most of the day. I think she looks like cat in the hat!

She usually looks like this around the house...

or this....

Dylan said something funny today and I just have to put it down in words so I don''t forget....

Dylan: Hey mom, can I go on inventnow.com?
Mom: Why, what are you going to invent?
Dylan: Oh, I don't know.....anything that has instructions.....:)

Troys Bike

Troy loves the thrift store. Troy will bring home trash stuff from the thrift store and rave about the deal he got for $2.29

Yep. This rusted, falling apart, spray painted jewel was $2.29. What a deal! And it's now parked on our porch to look at everyday. And everybody knows how much Troy needed a bike because he rides his other bike so much.( little sarcasm there) The one that has been in the shed the last 12 years of our marriage.

He said he liked the seat on the bike, thats why he bought it. We looked it up on the internet and the brand new seat on this pile of rust is worth $ 45.oo. Go figure?

kitty and Caitlin

Caitlin loves the kitty!

I am so surprised at how good this cat is with her. She has not been the most gentle with him, but Sam just lets her do anything she wants. She has given him a bath in the water fountain, pulled his tail, force feeds him, put him in her toy stroller to go for a walk.. just to name a few. ( we won't mention her carrying him by the neck)

And it doesn't stop just because he is sleeping. This is what she did to him the other day while he was trying to take a nap

.

she kept piling toys on him, that's legos and a pink ball. he never did wake up...

Proud ownership

Does that face look happy or what?

This kitty is no bigger than Troys flip flop.
The kids have LOVED playing with this cat. We made it a little fluffy toy and put it on a string for it to chase. They have worn him out doing this, to where he just lays down wherever he is and takes a nap. He lets Caitlin poke at him all day. She is determined to give this cat a drink, she follows him everywhere with his dish. He picked up on the litter box instantly. And so far so good with any allergy problems. We keep him on the porch so it might not get too bad. I think he likes it here!

Gods Gift

Last Sunday at church I found out that Dawson gave all his money in the offering. I asked him why he did that and he said because when you give you get a blessing. And I thought to myself, well, Lord, this is between you and him.

Lately, Dawson has had some time with friends... and their pets. There has been dogs, hamsters, birds etc. and he has become attached to these fury creatures and has asked for one for his birthday. We haven't thought of a pet because of Dawsons allergies, and left the subject alone. SO, do you want to know what happened today?

Troy calls from work and says, "I've been hearing a cat meow all day around this truck from one of the workers on the job, but every time he went to the truck it would stop." finally, after searching for this cat, it comes crawling out from under the engine. It's a little kitten! Troy is not a cat person but I heard in his voice he was not going to leave it behind. I said NO WAY! He said maybe my mom would like it. He calls me again on the way home,"I can't get in touch with my mom, I'll take it to my dad at the office. Dad said NO WAY! so he brings this kitten home, and the kids went nuts! Dawson eyes were tearing up so much, he ran into the bathroom and stayed there for so long I went in to get him.

Mom: You want to keep the cat don't you?

Dawson: Well I have been praying about 15 times asking God to let me keep it.

so we are going to leave it on the porch ( after I gave it a good bath) and test Dawsons allergies out with it. He is so excited, I don't even know how to blog it in words!

By The Way: Troy talked to the guy that drove the truck and he told him that where his main office is, there was a mother cat that had kittens and the secretary was feeding them. He said the cat must have crawled up under the car when he left that morning for work.....almost 200 miles away! We believe, that God delivered this little birthday present right to Dawson, the bible says in Luke 6:38, Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

That is the God I serve! He is so good! We have named him Sammy because he is God's gift to Dawson.

oh man!

I was driving to Publix the other day and I am behind this big Ford truck. I notice that the guy driving is an older guy, most likely a painter by the looks of his hat he was wearing. His truck seemed pretty high because when we stopped at a red light, I felt like I was looking right at his bumper. Actually, it was his hitch that caught my attention, because hanging from his hitch was.......a huge set of mens testi*#!*. Right there in front of me.......all the way to publix.....just a swinging back and forth in the wind! I can't believe this was decoration for a car to be displayed for all the world to see! WHY would somebody do that? I was so grossed out, I couldn't even pass the guy because we were on a two way road. I thought the car needed a pair of underwear on or something. I don't want to see some plastic mold of male private parts......ever, let alone on my way to get groceries for my family. What did this mean? That the car was a man? That the car was naked? What?
So there I was trapped behind this goofball and his "man" truck untill I could turn into the store.
Gross.

she's got my vote!

WOW! I just loved her speech the other night!
