Brownies before bed

YUMMY......

My kids had spinach, sweet potatoes and avocados before bed tonight......all disguised as a brownie!!!

They loved them so much!
When Dylan said his prayer tonight he prayed that Dawson would not get up in the middle of the night and eat them all.

no title

Well sorry about the whole week going by and not blogging.

We did have some fun though.......

  • movies with friends (Nims Island)
  • swimming at tutus
  • back to Monkey Joes
  • science center

I guess it's summer around here.

We have been playing a lot of dominoes. Dylan likes to play chicken foot. We also got a bunko game from the thrift store and have been playing that too.

Pretty laid back lately, it's just too hot to do anything outside.

We celebrated turning 6 at Monkey Joes today. Dylan had a great time. We invited some close friends and his 2 cousins to play along. He had pizza, cake and ice cream, just what he wanted.

4 people gave him $6.00 today! (thank you) He keeps counting it over and over, and can't believe he has all that money!

He also got:

  • a spy kit

  • heelys (grandma)

  • rip stik (grandma again)

  • dominoes game (gotta love grandma)

  • lego kit (tutu/ papa)

  • target gift card

  • ds transformers game

  • transformers movie

the last bedtime kiss

Tonight when tucking in Dylan, I told him that this was going to be the last kiss he gives me good night when he is 5. So I told him I want to remember it. He gave me a big hug and kiss good night, and I thought, that was that moment, no biggie right?

Wrong....

He started to get those huge brown puppy dog eyes and then he tried to hold back the tears....

I asked him why he was crying and he said he didn't want to grow up, he wanted to go back to 2 or three years old, back in the good ol' days.

MOM: what made those days better than now?

DYLAN: oh you know.....dad was younger then, and he played games with me. now all he says is," get to bed".

MOM: (trying hard not to giggle but look concerned)

DYLAN: I don't want this to be the last kiss when I'm 5

MOM: this may be the last one at 5, but I'm going to get 364 good night kisses when your 6!

DYLAN: Is it morning yet?

MOM: get to bed!!

Dylan is turning 6

I just can't believe that my Dylan will be 6 on Wed.!
We got out some home movies today and watched them over and over. I wish they were digital so I could share them with you.
Dylan loved to see himself as a baby. You could see his personality that he has now, even back when he was little.

Well he sure is excited to see his 6th birthday come. He is talking about having a chocolate cake, and he wants Dawson to bake it. He wants pizza for dinner and everyone is invited to come over.
I'm sure we can pull that off......you only turn 6 once!

my 100th post!

woo hoo 100 posts!
I've seen other posts write down 100 things about themselves to celebrate, but I don't think you really care to know that much about me. Besides, all 4 of you who read my blog all ready know me pretty well.
So just a quiet little post for a quiet little blog.....fitting, don't you think?

I couldn't tell you in words how much I love my kiddos. I get to look at these faces everyday and see the sweetest smiles in the world.
