Today I surprised the kids with a trip to the Orlando Science Center. They had such a great time! We saw wildlife to robots, and a bunch of hands on experiments they got to play with. Then we went to the park and had some lunch. Caitlin was pooped by the time we got home.
Caitlin got scared in the dino exhibit, I guess if I was 2 feet tall and a big T-rex skeleton was moving and roaring at me I would get a little nervous too. Other than that she kept up with the rest of us, pushing buttons and pulling levers everywhere.
I was so pleased with Dawson, he was teaching me today! He had a bit of information for everyplace we went. From bee hives to crystals he taught me a few things that I didn't know.
Everyone wants to go back tomorrow. I love the flexibility of homeschooling!!

My Moments
Today I was looking at some pictures of the boys and they looked so little! I never realized how much older they look right now. They are growing up! Dawson used to want to cuddle together and now he is embarrassed to hold my hand....sigh.
The other day, Dawson and I were going to the store together and I was wearing a shirt that someone gave me when they were cleaning out their closet. He gets out of the car with me and says," that shirt looks a little too Hawaiian." I couldn't believe he even cared what I was wearing.
When did this start? I am not too sure, I am not prepared for it either. This is probably the first of many to come though.

Starting potty training
Caitlin is moving on up and out if diapers.
Today she officially went pee pee on the potty all by herself without anyone even knowing about it!!
I went grocery shopping the other day at publix, but I didn't want to buy her diapers there because they are about 5 dollars more than wal-mart. Knowing I only had 3 diapers at home I thought I had enough time to go to walmart and get them. Well, I never did get to wal mart.......
This morning she took off her diaper and I let her wear one of Dylans underwear. She doesn't like to wear boys stuff, (roll of eyes ) so she took those off too. While I was getting ready to go to wal-mart she came out of the bathroom so excited to tell me what she did. Sure enough.....she did everything right!!!
So instead if diapers we bought underwear........girls underwear!!

a glass half full
I love this story......
On my way home one day, I stopped to watch a Little League baseball game that was being played in a park near my home. As I sat down behind the bench on the first-base line, I asked one of the boys what the score was? 'We're behind 14 to nothing,' he answered with a smile. 'Really,' I said. 'I have to say you don't look very discouraged.' 'Discouraged?', the boy asked with a puzzled look on his face...'Why should we be discouraged? We haven't been up to bat yet.'

Spaghetti....
How often can a family eat spaghetti? Well the Stitt home has it a lot! Last night we had it for dinner and I am sure Troy had it for breakfast this morning and I will most likely have it for lunch today. Dylan only likes the fat noodles not the skinny noodles, and he wants it with nothing on it, no butter, sauce, nothing. Dawson wants thin noodles, butter and lots of salt. Troy only wants it when there is meat in the sauce. I like it cold with Italian dressing on it....
But this little piggy......says yum yum yum
(this was her 3rd plate)

hello again
Wow! I can't believe it's been so long since my last post.
Sad thing is I have nothing really to post.
We are just finishing up the school year.....3 more weeks of choir and bowling. (yeah)
The kids are all ready asking" when can we go to the beach"?
I could go for a vacation!!!

Well super boy Dylan is proud to tell everyone he has started division today. He told Grandma and called his dad at work to pass the news around. He even showed dad when he came home for lunch.

A Day of Rest
Today was a long rainy Sunday. A good day to do absolutely nothing! Troy cooked some steak on the grill right before it started to pour. We ate on the back porch listening to the sound of thunder and raindrops. The kids thought it was fun, like a picnic.

Caitlins prayer
We start every day off in a circle on the floor, holding hands and say a quick prayer. The other day Dylan went first and he asked God to take away Caitlins allergies. While he was still praying Caitlin leaned over to him and with a whisper said, " I jump in the crib" and then went right back to head bowed down and eyes closed.
I guess she was trying to get Dylan to pray that she could get time to jump in her crib. And just to make sure this was going to happen, when it was her turn to pray she says, "Jesus Christ, jump in the crib!.....Amen".

oh what a day!
We had the best home school day today. Haven't had one like that in sooo long.
Nothing spectacular but we did finish every subject without having to do it all day.
I am getting ready to finish up the year so we really have to hit the books and get everything together for the next grade! 4th grade is right around the corner for Dawson and I believe I am going to have to get answer keys. (smile)

April fools day
For a few years now the kids and I play a practical joke on Troy on April fools day. We call him up on his cell and tell him that we have locked the keys in the car and ask if he would please come and rescue us, when really we have a lunch date set for him at a restaurant. We did it again this year...the restaurant of choice was Mexican!
Dawson seems to think dad is going to start catching on to what we are doing :)
